Jennings Accident

SAINT LOUIS: A 12 year old Black girl was struck by a Saint Louis County Police vehicle yesterday evening. Akeelah “Kee Kee” Jackson was returning home along Annetta Avenue from a routine trip to the store when she was mowed down by a county officer whose dash camera was mysteriously not working at the time of the incident. This area of North County is notorious for high speed police chases of the type that occurred last night, with officers in Saint Ann going on the record as saying that they are willing to “chase suspects until the wheels fall off”. Last month, an officer had both of his legs broken after colliding with another car head on and then a telephone pole during a chase that ended at the corner of Adie and Lee. These unsafe, Wild West style tactics on the part of North County departments demonstrate a callous disregard for the lives of the masses typical of colonizer police patrolling Black neighborhoods.

Akeelah Jackson was taken to the hospital with a shattered pelvis, shattered legs and shattered wrists, along with traumatic brain injuries. She is not expected to survive, according to doctors that are responsible for her treatment. If she does, she will be in a vegetative state for the rest of her life.

The family of the victim of this wild and irresponsible behavior on the part of this Saint Louis County pig has called for the officer to be terminated from his employment and charged like a regular person would. Judging from historical incidents similar to this one, we can safely say that the only justice will come from the masses themselves. The police are an occupying force in New Afrikan working class communities and work hand in hand with the courts to suppress resistance, spy on/harass residents, cover up their crimes, and extract the people’s hard earned money.

The murderers of Terry Tillman, Mike Brown, Vonderrit Myers, Isaiah Hammett, Kiwi Herring, Kajieme Powell, and countless others are still alive and breathing despite taking the lives of working class, exploited people. We must internalize the lesson taught by Huey Newton long ago and realize that the oppressor must be hounded until his doom and the enemy does not have the right to make mistakes, his entire existence is a mistake. The only salvation for the masses of Saint Louis who live under the pig plague is to organize with weapons in hand and drive this scum from our communities, along with slumlords, gentrifiers, racist store owners, “developers”, and all others who amass fortunes at the people’s expense.
